I agree the defense played well enough to win, but Va Tech's defense is supposed to be the number one defense, not Florida States
If the O had done it's job the D played well enough to win. And if the O had moved the ball the D wouldn't have had to spend so much time on the field either. Plain and simple FSU D kicked their tails.

Statistically they might be #1 but when they actually play "someone" they tend to get scored on. Remember they gave up 27 to miami too. Alot of those points werent a result of turnovers either, there was a 16 play 96 yard drive in there somewhere. Point being, other than Lewis, Tech is sorta small up front. Any team that has a power run game can run right at them. Had Ty Moss not got hurt, Tech would have given up 30+ in that game. The two best defenses Ive seen this year are Miami followed by Alabama. I asked a few tech fans saturday who make it a point to never agree with me and they thought Miami had the best D this year too because they are nearly impossible to pass on, have 26 players on D that play, and in big games they gave up no more than 10 points. Both Miami and FSU are alot faster than Tech on defense too. I saw the quote from Beamer where he said that Tech needs to recruit more speed. I dont see how hes going to do that to be honest. Miami and FSU could play any team in america and there still isnt going to be enough speed to be as fast as those 2 teams.
Am I the only one that watched this game and realized in the first few minutes that there was no way that they could let VT win this game and go to the Orange Bowl to play Penn State. Like I said before it is all about money and the ACC and the BCS couldn't have that. You can't have 2 teams from up in the northern part of the country playing in south florida even though they would both have one loss and ranked in the top five. You have to keep an unranked until after the game FSU at home so they can have home field to get their buts handed to them by PSU. Everyone keeps harping about VT doesn't play anybody well they are playing the same schedule that FSU has been playing for years.

ah another conspiracy theory, where is the evidence to back any of this up? Last time I checked, blacksburg is not northern, its below the mason dixon, and why would the acc want a 4 loss team representing them in a bcs game, it makes them look like the big east or the big 12 north.
The prestige of FSU and Bowden winning the first real ACC championship and then getting to go to the orange bowl essentially at home against Joe Patterno and Penn State after all the hardships they have endured this year makes a great story and will drive up the cost of advertising during the game. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist jsut made it a little to obvious with some of the calls made during the game, like the 2 pics above and I didn't know that a ball sailing high over a receivers head or long because of running the wrong route was grounding, if that was the case there should have been more than the one and almost everytime Erik Ainge threw the ball this year it was grounding.

Did you ever think that the ACC officials just suck? Im a hurricane fan and every other year while we were in the big east, fsu traveled to miami. The road team brings the officials and that was the acc officials. They are notoriously horrible officials and always have been, nothing more, nothing less. It was pretty evident that FSU outplayed VT and the score probably shouldnt have been as close as it was.
Yeah I tell you what... if them refs hadn't sacked Marcus 6 times and held VT to 31 yds on 41 Carries, they might have pulled it out.....Dadgum Refs....

Reeking of awesomeness!
Yeah, go Vols. Maybe they can handle Vandy next year.
